My great grandfather came to California to work in the gold mines, and I like to think I carry that same spirit - finding value where others overlook it.
I grew up in Elk Grove but now I live in Shasta county with my wife Jess, our boys Madoc and Tucker and our 120 pound dog named Bones.
We are building an off grid life on 20 wooded acres near Mount Lassen. I believe in hard work, honesty, and doing things the right way. Family, Freedom and Nature are very important to me.

Projects
I'm always working on building my off-grid property. Theres endless work to be done, I spend a lot of time running a chainsaw to clean up the land. I also run Thunderstone Wilderness Ventures, where I teach survival skills at on my property and at events. We have weekly kid classes where I teach how to make friction fire, how to tan hides and shoot bows among other things.
Free time
Most of my free time is spent outdoors. Hiking, mountain biking, fishing, riding motorcycles, archery, hunting and filming my survival adventures. I also enjoy visiting old historical sites and ghost towns whenever I get the chance.
Music
I love music. Everything from classical to outlaw country to folk metal. Pink Floyd & Led Zeppelin are classic staples. I also listen to a lot of podcasts about history, health, business, and spooky/ supernatural stories.
TV & Movies
If I turn on the TV, it's usually old stuff, 80's sci-fi, 90's action and 60's-70's western movies. I've currently been going through a Jackie Chan phase.
Travel
I love seeing places close to home and abroad.
Favorite travels include the ruins and jungles in Peru, Seeing the wildlife and visiting the Hadza a hunter-gatherer tribe in Tanzania. I’m always drawn to places that feel raw and wild. Hoping to get to Alaska, Scandinavia and back to Africa and South America.
